It is no secret that cannabis and sex have been linked for centuries. Cannabis as an Aphrodisiac dates back to ancient Indian Ayurvedic Medicine, with a cannabis-infused beverage called “Bhang”. This beverage was used in ceremonies and thought to create libido.
Cannabis has been extremely under-studied. Little evidence exists on how many people are using cannabis during sex. Many people are using medical cannabis for the anxiety associated with sex. Once people bring cannabis into the bedroom they are more comfortable with one another and are willing to try new things. Some sex partners find that when they’re high they communicate better, are more sexually adventurous, and have stronger orgasms.
Physically-People suffering from various pains finds it difficult for them to enjoy sex. Cannabis helps bring pain levels down allowing them to enjoy sex much more.
Mentally- Cannabis affects the hippocampus- an area of the brain involved in memory and emotion- this helps to slow down time and inhibit our short-term memory. The cannabis effect allows users to revel in the sensuality of the moment with one another.
The key to making cannabis work for you in the bedroom is to find the right strain in the right dose. Different strains can affect people in different ways. The sativa that makes one person happy can make someone else paranoid, or the indica that relaxes you may make someone else pass out. With cannabis and sex, the trick is to find the specific plant that works for you and your partner.
Cannabis is a complex plant with 450 to 500 chemical compounds that have very different physiological and psychological effects. In general, Indica strains load your body with weight, sensation, pain relief, and muscle relaxation. In contrast, sativa strains are a mind stimulator and are more cerebral.
Creativity and laughter are associated with sativa strains. The almost psychedelic “Cerebral” sativa high; where the amped-up mind may fill in for the missing body, creates a trippy sexual experience you couldn’t have without cannabis. For many, sativa is their most potent Aphrodisiac.
Strains used to boost romance and sexual experiences are mostly sativa-dominant hybrids with a 70/30 % ratio. This, as it turns out, is a better ratio than 100 % pure strains.
Shatters, medibles, and cannabis tinctures are also beneficial and can play a big part in your journey to finding what is right for you and your partner.
When you use flower or any concentrate; pay very close attention to how it makes you and your partner feel. Everyone’s cannabis needs and responses are different. Our bodies & minds have a unique way of processing cannabis. The way your body processes cannabis will determine the aphrodisiac boost.
With the proper strains in the correct dose, Cannabis can: help you have better communication, be more sexually honest and, the greatest part- lead to amazing sex.
Be good to each other Peace & Love
