NM State Senator Cisco McSorley & Senate Bill 177 – Streamline Medical Cannabis Patient Access

283

Introducing a Medical Cannabis patient bill  (senate bill 177) For 2017 this bill has many things needed for New Mexico Patients today. Senator Cisco McSorely was the original sponsor of the Aaron & Lynn bill 10 years ago. In the last 10 years, a lot of research has occurred. What Senator McSorely is doing this year is updating the act by adding the new ideas that have developed throughout the cannabis industry in the US as well as throughout the world as it related to medical cannabis. On top of updating the act, the other issue is streamlining the act for qualifying to be in the medical cannabis patient program, #2 making it easier to renew their licenses after they receive them. Currently, we have over 32,000 patients and Senator McSorely would like to double that upto 60,000 patients. This is a 3 year journey with multiple public hearings, amendments, and adding important issues from advocates heard from across the state.

Senator McSorely believes the bill has a very good chance to pass. If you would like to connect with Senator McSorely Visit and like is Facebook page here
