eCS Therapy Companion Guide

Many people learned about my Ph.D. journey and work as a Social
Scientist in the book, Theorist-at-Large: One Woman’s Ambiguous
Journey into Medical Cannabis. As described in the book, this academic adventure was accompanied by my own journey as a medical cannabis patient. I first became a patient in New Mexico, and have since lived as a patient in California and Colorado.

When I began exploring whether or not
cannabis might be helpful to my own
medical conditions I searched for a book
like The eCS Therapy Companion Guide.
There wasn’t one, so I googled and became
intimate with PubMed. In the years
since I’ve come to spend time with scientists
and other cannabis researchers
learning more, as well I’ve experienced
cannabis therapy and observed its effect
in thousands of others, including my own
grandson.

Last year, Mark Pedersen and I launched
a 501(c)(3) organization, The eCS Therapy
Center—the eCS stands for Endocannabinoid
System. As our core objective, our
goal is to help patients new to cannabis
therapy learn why cannabis a good option
for most (because all humans have an
eCS), how to engage safely and comfortably,
and to dose at a level that will provide
therapeutic value. For this reason, the
first edition of The eCS Therapy Companion
Guide was released in August 2015, just
before we opened our first office in Peoria,
IL. The eCS Therapy Companion Guide
has been an invaluable guide to our team
of Peer-Educators and we have now
trained teams in Peoria, Colorado Springs,
and to service patients remotely (online
education). It will be the text for a Medical
Cannabis Peer-Education program
launched nationally in 2016.

Patients around the globe have sent me
messages thanking me for publishing this
reference guide. This is the book that I
sought and it took me nearly five years to
understand how to share the information in
a comprehensive way, it’s now available
on Amazon or our website:
