NMMCPA Patient Testimonial

I have been able to regain a relationship with my wife again. She used to so
much for me because of my immobility and pain, but now that I am being
treated with Medical Cannabis we are able to go out to eat together now
and take a walk together

I am Theodore J. Thompson. I am 80 years
of age. I’ve had a lifelong career as a
freight truck driver. And as it turns out, all
the freight lifting and miles of sitting in the
cab of a truck for most of my life has taken
a toll on my physical health in ways I had
not anticipated. Being in the transportation
industry meant that the use of marijuana
was not an option, so in my retirement
years it wasn’t something I even considered
as a medical treatment for my debilitating
chronic pain. That was until my daughter,
Teddie suggested that I try Medical Cannabis.
Up to this point, I had seen many
doctors for my pain and all of them had
sent me to the pain clinic, where morphine
and other pharmaceuticals were the only
options. When I discussed Medical Cannabis
with my Primary Care Physician, he
was supportive, but could not sign for my
card. I obtained my Medical Cannabis
card through another provider, then went
to consult with Rachel at the Verdes Foundation
where we began treatment.
It has been just a couple months since
beginning treatment and I’m amazed to report
that it is working so well that I’ve been
able to completely stop taking morphine
and I no longer require the use of my walker
to get around. Every day the treatments
seem to help a little more and I am feeling
hopeful that I will eventually find relief from
the rest of my aches and pains.
